[mu]-Chloro-[mu]-diphenylphosphido-[mu]-hydrido-bis[([eta]6-hexamethylbenzene)ruthenium(II)] tetrafluoroborate

Abstract: The new triple-bridged dinuclear cation [([eta]6-C6Me6)2Ru2([mu]2-Cl)([mu]2-H)([mu]2-PPh2)]+ was formed in chloroform from the precursor [([eta]6-C6Me6)2Ru2([mu]2-H)2([mu]2-PPh2)]+ and characterized as the tetrafluoroborate salt [([eta]6-C12H18)2Ru2([mu]2-Cl)([mu]2-H){[mu]2-P(C6H5)2}]BF4. The single-crystal X-ray structure analysis confirms the formation of the meso form. Despite the presence of two stereogenic centres, the complex is not chiral.
