N-(2-Acetylphenyl)acetamide

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₀H₁₁NO₂, was synthesized from 2'-aminoacetophenone in acetic anhydride. In the molecular structure, an intramolecular N-HO hydrogen bond [HO = 1.893 (18) Å] appears to affect the overall planar conformation of the molecule.
