Abstract: The title molecule, C26H16Cl4N2, lies on a crystallographic inversion centre and is disordered. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings of the central biphenyl unit is 34.4 (3)°. The unique benzene ring of the biphenyl group is essentially coplanar with the -C(H)=N- unit, whereas the 2,6-dichlorophenyl substituent is twisted with respect to it. The reason for the twisted conformation is attributed to steric crowding by the Cl atoms.
