-Oxalato-bis[(2,2'-bipyridine)(N,N-dimethylformamide)copper(II)] bis(perchlorate)

Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu₂(C₂O₄)(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂(C₃H₇NO)₂](ClO₄)₂, the oxalate-bridged binuclear copper(II) complex cation is centrosymmetric. The Cu^II atom has a distorted square-pyramidal geometry with two O and two N atoms from oxalate and bipyridine ligands in the basal plane, and with a dimethylformamide O atom in the apical position. The CuCu distance is 5.1492 (18) Å.
