Abstract: The title compound, C14H11NO3, is stabilized by intermolecular O-H
O, N-H
O and C-H
O hydrogen bonds, and by three C-H
intermolecular interactions. The N-H
O and O-H
O hydrogen bonds generate edge-fused R44(26) rings. The phthalide ring system of the molecule is almost planar and forms a dihedral angle of 63.02 (7)° with the second benzene ring.
