Abstract: In the title compound, C₁₆H₁₂Cl₂O₂, the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 44.59 (3)°. In the crystal structure, the molecules form layers parallel to the ac plane which propagate down the b axis and which are stabilized by short ClCl interactions.
