1-(2,5-Dimethyl-3-thienyl)-2-[5-(1,3-dithiolan-2-yl)-2-methyl-3-thienyl]-3,3,4,4,5,5-hexafluorocyclopent-1-ene: a new photochromic diarylethene compound

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₉H₁₆F₆S₄, is a new asymmetric photochromic diarylethene which contains 3-thienyl substituents. The distance between the two reactive C atoms in the molecule is 3.548 (3) Å. The dihedral angles between the central cyclopentene ring and two thiophene rings are 45.7 (1) and 44.5 (1)°.
