trans-Iodo(p-iodophenyl)bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II)

Abstract: The title compound, trans-[Pd(C₆H₄I)I(C₁₈H₁₅P)₂], has been crystallized from dichloromethane. The crystal structure of this complex reveals a slightly distorted square-planar coordination geometry of the Pd atom, which lies on a twofold rotation axis. The P atoms in the triphenylphosphine ligands lie slightly out of the planes of the phenyl rings. The crystal structure is stabilized by short intermolecular II contacts, weak C-H(arene) hydrogen bonds and - stacking interactions.
