Abstract: The title compound, trans-[Pd(C6H4I)I(C18H15P)2], has been crystallized from dichloromethane. The crystal structure of this complex reveals a slightly distorted square-planar coordination geometry of the Pd atom, which lies on a twofold rotation axis. The P atoms in the triphenylphosphine ligands lie slightly out of the planes of the phenyl rings. The crystal structure is stabilized by short intermolecular I...I contacts, weak C-H...[pi](arene) hydrogen bonds and [pi]-[pi] stacking interactions.
