Abstract: The title compound, C₁₆H₁₄N₄O₂, was synthesized by the reaction of o-phthalaldehyde and 5-methyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazol-3-ylamine in dichloromethane. The conformation of the molecular structure may be influenced by a weak intramolecular C-HN interaction and weak C-H interactions, and - stacking interactions may influence the crystal packing.
