Abstract: The oligomerization of 2,6-dimethylphenyl isocyanide by successive insertion of 2,6-dimethylphenyl isocyanide with MeLi reagent gave the title compound, C₃₈H₄₂N₄, which crystallizes in a centrosymmetric structure and possesses normal geometric parameters.
