3-[(3,4,5-Tribromo-1H-pyrrol-2-ylcarbonyl)amino]propanoic acid

Abstract: The title compound, C₈H₇Br₃N₂O₃, was synthesized by condensation of -alanine methyl ester with 3,4,5-tribromo-2-trichloroacetylpyrrole at room temperature, followed by saponification and acidification. In the crystal structure, intermolecular N-HO hydrogen bonds and weak O-HBr hydrogen-bond interactions link the molecules into extended ribbons parallel to the c axis.
