Abstract: The cation in the title compound, C23H23N2+·Cl-·H2O, features a benzimidazole ring connected to two 4-methylbenzyl rings via methylene bridges. The crystal structure is stabilized by C-H...O, C-H...Cl and O-H...Cl hydrogen-bonding interactions, leading to a three-dimensional framework.
