Abstract: The cation in the title compound, C₂₃H₂₃N₂⁺·Cl^-·H₂O, features a benzimidazole ring connected to two 4-methylbenzyl rings via methylene bridges. The crystal structure is stabilized by C-HO, C-HCl and O-HCl hydrogen-bonding interactions, leading to a three-dimensional framework.
