Abstract: Sm(CO3)(OH) was obtained hydrothermally from an aqueous solution of samarium oxide, formic acid, triethylenetetramine and dimethylformamide. The structure features decacoordinated samarium (site symmetry m) with carbonate and hydroxide acting as bridging ligands.
