Tris(2,2'-bipyridyl)iron(II) dibromide 4.5-hydrate

J. Heilmann, H.-W. Lerner and M. Bolte

Abstract: The title compound, [Fe(C10H8N2)3]Br2·4.5H2O, contains discrete tris(2,2'-bipyridyl)iron(II) cations, bromide anions and water molecules. The Fe atom (site symmetry 3) is octahedrally coordinated by six N atoms of the three bidentate bipyridyl ligands. One bromide ion occupies a site of symmetry m; the other one is located on a site of symmetry 32. All the water O atoms are also located on special positions of site symmetries 3, m (×2) and \\overline6.
