Abstract: The title compound, C₂₀H₂₈NO⁺·Cl^-, was synthesized by a condensation reaction. The absolute configuration of the new stereogenic centre (the C atom between the N atom and the phenol ring) was determined as R. The crystal structure is stabilized through N-HCl and O-HCl hydrogen bonds and intramolecular N-HO hydrogen bonding.
