3S,O,N]dimethyltin(IV)Abstract: In the title compound, [Sn(CH3)2(C15H12N4O2S)], there are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit which have almost identical geometries. It is a pentacoordinated SnIV complex, with distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. 1,5-Bis(2-hydroxybenzylidene)thiocarbonohydrazide acts as a tridentate ligand, coordinating through the deprotonated phenolate O atom, imino N atom and thiolate S atom. Strong intermolecular N-H
N hydrogen bonds lead to the formation of dimers; the dimers are held together by van der Waals forces.
