Abstract: The title compound, [Ni(C₇H₃NO₄)(H₂O)₂], has been prepared by the hydrothermal reaction of nickel(II) chloride and pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid. It is isostructural with the analogous Cu^II complex.
