Abstract: In the title compound, C₁₈H₂₀N₂O₃, the azobenzene unit has a trans configuration, and the two benzene rings are inclined with respect to each other by 5.9 (2)°. Molecules are linked by O-HO hydrogen bonds into a linear chain along [10 $\\overline{1}$ ].
