cis-Bis[(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)methanol-²N,O]bis(thiocyanato-N)cobalt(II)

Abstract: The title complex, [Co(NCS)₂(C₈H₈N₂O)₂], possesses crystallographically imposed twofold symmetry. The Co^II atom is coordinated by four N atoms and two O atoms in a distorted octahedral geometry. The crystal packing is stabilized by weak intermolecular O-HS and N-HS hydrogen bonds.
