Abstract: In the title compound, trans-[RuCl2(C2H6S)4], the RuII ion, located on a special position (4a) with crystallographically imposed
symmetry, coordinates four S atoms from the dimethyl sulfide molecules and two chloride ions in an octahedral trans configuration. All atoms, except ruthenium, occupy general positions (8c).
