2,4-Diamino-5-(3,4,5-trimethoxybenzyl)pyrimidinium 4-hydroxy-3-nitrophenyl-arsonate monohydrate

Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, (C₁₄H₁₉N₄O₃)[AsO₂(OH)(C₆H₄NO₃)]·H₂O, consists of substituted pyrimidine cations, roxarsone (3-nitro-4-hydroxyphenylarsonate) anions and water molecules. Due to deprotonation of the arsonate group, the As-O bond distances in the anion are significantly different. An extensive network of O-HO, N-HO and N-HN hydrogen bonds helps to stabilize the crystal structure.
