Acetaldehyde 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone

Abstract: The molecule of the title Schiff base compound, C₈H₈N₄O₄, is not planar, with a dihedral angle of 9.3 (2)° between the N-N=C-C plane and the benzene ring. There is an intramolecular N-HO hydrogen bond, and N-O interactions, which help to stabilize the structure.
