Abstract: The polymeric title compound, [Zn(C₈H₁₇O₂PS₂)₂(C₁₂H₁₂N₂)] or [Zn{S₂P(OⁱBu)₂}₂{NC₅H₄C(H)=C(H)C₅H₄N}]_n, has the Zn atom within a distorted octahedral N₂S₄ geometry; the polymer toplology is a straight chain. The Zn atom is located on a centre of inversion and the bridging bipyridine ligand is situated about another centre of inversion.
