Abstract: The title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C9H9N2)], has four molecules in the asymmetric unit and exists in the form of an R44(12) tetramer as tautomeric 3-ferrocenyl-5-methyl-1H-pyrazole and 5-ferrocenyl-3-methyl-1H-pyrazole (3:1). In a unit cell, two tetramers are linked by C-H
hydrogen bonds involving the cyclopentadienyl rings as acceptors into a double chain in the [010] direction.
