The title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C9H9N2)], has four molecules in the asymmetric unit and exists in the form of an R44(12) tetra­mer as tautomeric 3-ferrocenyl-5-methyl-1H-pyrazole and 5-ferrocenyl-3-methyl-1H-pyrazole (3:1). In a unit cell, two tetra­mers are linked by C—H...π hydrogen bonds involving the cyclo­penta­dienyl rings as acceptors into a double chain in the [010] direction.

Special details top

Geometry. All e.s.d.'s (except the e.s.d. in the dihedral angle between two l.s. planes) are estimated using the full covariance matrix. The cell e.s.d.'s are taken into account individually in the estimation of e.s.d.'s in distances, angles and torsion angles; correlations between e.s.d.'s in cell parameters are only used when they are defined by crystal symmetry.
