Aqua(di-2-pyridylamine-²N²,N^2')(D-gluconato-²O,O')copper(II) trihydrate

Abstract: In the title complex, [Cu(C₆H₁₀O₇)(C₁₀H₉N₃)(H₂O)]·3H₂O, the Cu atom has a distorted square-pyramidal geometry coordinated by two O atoms of a D-gluconate ligand, two N atoms of a bidentate di-2-pyridylamine ligand and a water O atom. The deprotonated -hydroxyl and carbonate O atoms of the D-gluconate ligand form a five-membered chelate ring with the Cu atom. The crystal structure is stabilized both by all of the available hydrogen bonds and by - stacking interactions between di-2-pyridylamine ligands.
