Abstract: The title complex, [Co(C₂₈H₂₀N₄O₂)(CH₃OH)], can be described as a single-stranded helix with the Co^II atom having a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal configuration. Edge-to-face - stacking interactions, C-H interactions between the aromatic rings and O-HO hydrogen bonds lead to a three-dimensional network in the crystal structure.
