Abstract: In the title compound, {[Ni(C₆H₆NO₃S)₂(H₂O)₂]·2H₂O}_n, each Ni^II atom lies on a centre of inversion and is six-coordinated by two N atoms, two sulfonate O atoms and two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. The sulfanilate anion, a bidentate bridging ligand, links the Ni^II atoms to produce a layered structure.
