trans-Dipyridinebis(sulfamerazinato)nickel(II)-pyridine (1/4)

Abstract: The title compound, [Ni(C₁₁H₁₁N₄O₂S)₂(C₅H₅N)₂]·4C₅H₅N, contains the centrosymmetric octahedral complex trans-[Ni(smr)₂(py)₂] (where smr is the sulfamerazinate anion and py is pyridine) linked to four pyridine molecules via N-HN hydrogen bonds. This is the first crystal structure of a metal complex of sulfamerazine.
