Abstract: In the title complex, [Cu(C₇H₄ClO₂)₂(C₁₀H₈N₂)]_n, the Cu^II ion, lying on an inversion centre, is coordinated by two monodentate 4-chlorobenzoate ligands and two N atoms from two bridging 4,4'-bipyridine ligands, each disposed about a centre of inversion, within an N₂O₂ square plane. This coordination leads to the formation of a linear chain.
