Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C3H4N2)5]2(C14H4O8)·3H2O, the CuII ion is coordinated by five imidazole ligands in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The naphthalenetetracarboxylate anion is located on an inversion center and links with the complex cations via N-H
O hydrogen bonding. Hydrogen bonding between solvent water molecules and complex cations stabilizes the crystal structure.
