Bis[pentaimidazolecopper(II)] naphthalene-1,4,5,8-tetracarboxylate trihydrate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C₃H₄N₂)₅]₂(C₁₄H₄O₈)·3H₂O, the Cu^II ion is coordinated by five imidazole ligands in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The naphthalenetetracarboxylate anion is located on an inversion center and links with the complex cations via N-HO hydrogen bonding. Hydrogen bonding between solvent water molecules and complex cations stabilizes the crystal structure.
