Abstract: The title compound [systematic name: 2-hydroxy-5-methoxy-2,4,6-cycloheptatrien-1-one], C₈H₈O₃, contains intra- and intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bonds, resulting in inversion-symmetry generated dimers. The crystal packing is consolidated by -, C-H and C-HO interactions.
