Abstract: The use of mixed-ligand (iodide and thiocyanate) coordination with cobalt has led to the crystallization of the title compound, (C24H20As)2[CoI2(NCS)2]. The structure comprises tetrahedral (C6H5)4As+ cations and tetrahedral [CoI2(NCS)2]2- anions, the latter lying on crystallographic twofold axes.
