Dimethyl 4-[4-(2-methoxy-2-oxoethoxy)phenyl]-2,6-dimethyl-1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate

Abstract: The 1,4-dihydropyridine (1,4-DHP) ring of the title compound, C₂₀H₂₃NO₇, adopts a flattened boat conformation. The carbonyl groups of the ester groups, at positions 3 and 5 in the 1,4-DHP ring, have cis configurations with respect to the double bonds in the 1,4-DHP ring. In the solid state, centrosymmetrically related molecules form dimers through intermolecular N-HO hydrogen bonds with a graph-set motif of R₂²(26). Intermolecular C-HO interactions are also observed.
