Bis[4-methyl-1-(4-nitrobenzyl)pyridinium] bis(1,2,5-thiadiazole-3,4-dithiolato)nickelate(II)

Abstract: In the title complex, (C₁₃H₁₃N₂O₂)₂[Ni(C₂N₂S₃)₂] or (NO₂BzMePy)₂[Ni(tdas)₂], where NO₂BzMePy is 4-methyl-1-(4-nitrobenzyl)pyridinium and tdas is 1,2,5-thiadiazole-3,4-dithiolate, the centrosymmetric [Ni(tdas)₂]^2- anion exhibits an almost planar structure. Weak C-HN, C-HS and C-HNi hydrogen bonds and - stacking interactions generate a two-dimensional network structure.
