Abstract: The title complex, [Cd(C5H3N6)2(H2O)2], possesses a crystallographically imposed inversion centre. The CdII atom is coordinated by four N atoms [Cd-N = 2.2794 (16) and 2.4155 (16) Å] from two 5-(pyrazin-2-yl)tetrazolate ligands and two water molecules [Cd-O = 2.263 (2) Å] in a distorted octahedral geometry. The crystal packing is governed by intermolecular O-H
N hydrogen bonds.
