Di--homophthalato-³O:O',O'';³O',O'':O-bis[aqua(1,10-phenanthroline)zinc(II)]

Abstract: In the title compound, [Zn₂(C₉H₆O₄)₂(C₁₂H₈N₂)₂(H₂O)₂], each Zn^II atom is surrounded by three O atoms from two homophthalate dianions, one aqua O atom and two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) heterocycle in a distorted octahedral geometry [Zn-O = 2.0440 (19)-2.256 (2) Å, and Zn-N = 2.113 (2) and 2.158 (2) Å]. Two [Zn(phen)(H₂O)]²⁺ cations are linked by two bridging homophthalate dianions, resulting in a centrosymmetric binuclear complex.
