Bis(malonamide-²O,O')bis(nitrato-O)copper(II)

Abstract: The title complex, [Cu(NO₃)₂(C₃H₆N₂O₂)₂], exists in the crystal structure as a monomer and possesses a crystallographically imposed center of symmetry. The Cu atom is coordinated by six O atoms [Cu-O = 1.9339 (10)-2.3964 (11) Å] from two chelating malonamide ligands and two terminal NO₃ groups in a distorted octahedral geometry. The crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular N-HO hydrogen bonds.
