Bis(2,2-bipyridine-²N,N')(hippurato-²O,O')cadmium(II) perchlorate dihydrate

Abstract: In the title complex, [Cd(C₉H₇NO₃)(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂]ClO₄·2H₂O, the Cd^II atom is six-coordinated by two O atoms from the hippurate ligand and four N atoms from two 2,2-bipyridine ligands in a distorted octahedral geometry. The molecules are linked by O-HO hydrogen bonds, generating edge-shared centrosymmetric R₅⁴(15) rings along the [010] direction. Intermolecular C-HO and N-HO hydrogen-bonding interactions stabilize the crystal packing.
