N,N-Di-n-butyl-N'-pivaloylthiourea

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₄H₂₈N₂OS, is found to adopt a distorted S conformation, with the carbonyl of the pivaloyl group facing in the opposite direction to the N-H amine bond, which lies in roughly the same direction as the C=S of the thiourea. The C-N bond of the thiourea on the acyl side of the molecule is much longer than the corresponding bond on the opposite disubstituted side.
