Abstract: In the title compound, C20H16ClN3O2, the salicylaldehyde group makes dihedral angles of 73.93 (7) and 21.59 (13)° with the terminal chlorobenzene ring and the pyridine mean plane, respectively. Packing is stabilized by intermolecular N-H
O hydrogen bonds and weak, non-classical intermolecular C-H
O hydrogen bonds that link adjacent molecules into one-dimensional extended chains.
