(E)-N'-[2-(4-Chlorobenzyloxy)benzylidene]isonicotinohydrazide

Abstract: In the title compound, C₂₀H₁₆ClN₃O₂, the salicylaldehyde group makes dihedral angles of 73.93 (7) and 21.59 (13)° with the terminal chlorobenzene ring and the pyridine mean plane, respectively. Packing is stabilized by intermolecular N-HO hydrogen bonds and weak, non-classical intermolecular C-HO hydrogen bonds that link adjacent molecules into one-dimensional extended chains.
