(2-Aminoethanesulfonato-²N,O)bis(1,10-phenanthroline-²N,N')cobalt(II) perchlorate monohydrate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Co(C₂H₆NO₃S)(C₁₂H₈N₂)₂]ClO₄·H₂O, the two independent complex octahedral cations in the asymmetric unit are linked by N-HO hydrogen bonds into a chain that propagates along b. The perchlorate anions and disordered uncoordinated water molecules, two of each in the asymmetric unit, are situated in the voids between the chains, and probably interact with them by way of hydrogen bonds.
