Monopotassium monosodium hexahydrogen -hexamolybdoplatinate(IV) hexahydrate

Abstract: The title compound, KNa[H₆-PtMo₆O₂₄]·6H₂O, containing the hexamolybdoplatinate(IV) polyanion with the highest level of protonation, was isolated at pH = 0.48. The anion has the Pt atom at an inversion center and has local symmetry close to m; there are two independent half-anions in the asymmetric unit. Four O atoms of the central PtO₆ octahedron and two O atoms of the edge-shared MoO₆ octahedron are protonated. One Na atom occupies an inversion center.
