Acta Cryst. (2006). E62, m3054-m3055 [ doi:10.1107/S1600536806043285 ]
Abstract: A monoclinic polymorph of the title compound, [Sn(C6H5)3I], complements the previously reported triclinic variant [Ng (1995). Acta Cryst. C51, 629-631; Simard & Wharf (1994). Acta Cryst. C50, 397-403]. There are two molecules in the asymmetric unit; in both cases, the Sn atom adopts a distorted SnIC3 tetrahedral environment.
