Abstract: The title crystal structure, [Pd(C8H10N)Cl(C5H4ClN)]·0.25C3H6O, has four independent complex molecules, and half each of two acetone molecules, the solvent molecules being located on twofold axes, in the asymmetric unit. The angle subtended by the pyridine ring and the mean plane formed by the Pd atom and its directly bonded atoms in each of the four molecules varies over a range of 14°. This conformational flexibility may well reflect the influence of crystal packing on the molecular structure.
