Abstract: The title compound, C30H18N8·2H2O, is a solvate of 2,3,7,8-tetra(pyridin-2-yl)pyrazino[2,3-g]quinoxaline and, like the latter, is crystallographically centrosymmetric. The pyrazine ring makes dihedral angles of 54.95 (6) and 28.09 (6)° with the two independent pyridine rings. The two pyridine rings are inclined to one another by 56.77 (7)°, with their N atoms facing each other. In the crystal structure, adjacent molecules are linked by O-H
N hydrogen bonds, forming a wide ribbon-like structure extending in the ac plane.
