Abstract: One of the two independent Cd atoms of the polymeric title compound, [Cd3(C16H10O4)3(H2O)2]n, lies on a special position of 3 site symmetry and the other on a special position of
site symmetry. The compound adopts a carboxylate-bridged layer structure.
