Aquachlorobis(1,10-phenanthroline)cobalt(II) chloride thiourea solvate

H. Zhong, X.-R. Zeng, Y.-Q. Liu and Q.-Y. Luo

Abstract: The Co(II) ion in the title compound, [CoCl(phen)2(H2O)]Cl·C(NH2)2S [phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, (C12H8N2)], has a distorted octahedral coordination formed by one Cl atom, one water molecule, and four N atoms of two phen ligands. Ions and molecules are linked into a three-dimensional framework by N-H...S, N-H...Cl and O-H...Cl hydrogen bonds. The supramolecular network structure is consolidated by [pi]-[pi] stacking interactions and hydrogen bonds.
