Abstract: In the title compound, [Cd(C₈H₄O₄)(C₇H₆N₂)₂]_n, the Cd atom is coordinated by four O atoms from two different benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate (bdc) ligands and two N atoms from two different benzimidazole ligands. The bdc ligands bridge the Cd atoms to form a one-dimensional zigzag chain structure.
