Abstract: In the title compound, [Zn(C9H6NO3S)2(H2O)2], the coordination geometry around the Zn atom is distorted octahedral, formed by two water molecules, two aromatic N and two sulfonate O atoms from two equivalent quinoline-8-sulfonate ligands. The complex molecule is centrosymmetric. The water molecules play an important role in the formation of a hydrogen-bonded two-dimensional network.
